I saw it. It was the most chilling creature I've ever seen.
Less than a metre long, my nightmare had a crystal clear body...entirely transparent from it's pair of feelers all the way to it's "tail". It lives in the waters, where no one would ever have a clue of its presence...added advantage for this predator.
What's the prey? Or rather who's the prey?
It's you and me, dear. You and me. Oh but don't worry, your fishes are safe. Because they don't have juice. Spinal juice.
Upon approaching it's unsuspecting prey, the worm-like creature quickly reveal a row of spikes or needle-like protrusions along it's long, slender body.
Is it alien? I couldn't relate any of its characteristics to any form of life on Earth except that it's body is shaped like a centipede. Wormy. Did the extraterrestrials send it to paralyse the human race? Literally, paralyse?
Maybe terrorists found another way to pacify their sick, screwed minds. Genetically modified animals? Bringing this thing, to "punish" mankind, this time without violence or firearms.
How it kills? It doesn't. But it makes you want to die, badly. Hoping death will caress you with it's cold, unfeeling hands.
Don't let it get you, because when it does, the damn thing will attach along your backbone, and pierce it's colourless needles into you. Dozens and dozens of needles sinking right through your skin, through your backbone, right into the center of your spinal cord. The excruciating sharp pain you experience lasts for only a couple of minutes, though not because the creature has retracted it's fangs, but because you can't feel anything anymore.
The whole process, from the painful to the painless, will leave you begging for a passing merciful soul to simply shoot you in the head. Since it wouldn't hurt at all, you wouldn't mind biting of your own tongue so you could just bleed to death, like in those TV shows. But you can't even move a muscle, much less your teeth.
Suck. Suck. Suck. Until it's had it's fill. Really silently.
One needle through your spine could hurt like crazy. That many of it could... It must really hurt. Well good thing you'll be paralysed.
As it feeds on you, leeches on you, it slowly grows. Still transparent as ever. Funny how it doesn't get filled up with blood. Like it filters everything else out. Seems it was made for this, built for paralysis. Torture.
Don't even try removing it while it's feeding, because there will be greater pain upon the inflicted individual, than when it first pierces through.
Pain arises from within when you try to scream so hard, yet your lips wouldn't budge. No sound. No one hears.
You and the worm become one. It's the only thing there that understands
your pain.
It feeds on us, we feed on other things, who feeds on them?
Are they not part of the big web?
Could be it the ultimate predator? That being said, If anything were to prey on it, that thing would require an alarmingly good vision.
The worm creature possesses an armour that seems so delicate, yet it could possibly withstand the weight of a bulldozer.
I stand in awe of it, at the same time helpless in the face of it.
It's unlike any other monsters you've seen. It doesn't need to look intimidating to send chills down your spine. No sound it makes, no blood it spills, no flesh it devours, no life it robs, no face it reveals, no colour it shows, just suffering it brings. Just pain it entails. Endless...
Stay away from the waters, will ya?
Away from the Spinacoreliowermafucous.
